  • Random request: Roof height on an S13 Hatch

Hey guys, so I just recently picked up a 240sx hatch, and I have a plan. My school charges out the ass for parking, like $400 a semester for a parking pass. So what I want to see if I can do is dump the fuck out of the 240 and try to get it to sneak under the liftgates that let you in. They seem to be decently high, I know that I can get like 3/4 of the windshield of my GTI under there, so maybe the 240 has a chance?? If anyone could grab me some measurements that would be sick. Here's the work in progress (hasn't really started until I get my SR20 in )

          ^^

That's what I'm talking about, that's a coupe though. Just from looks the coupe seems to have a lower roof line. I think if I can pull that off though I can make it under the gates.

Have you priced the cost of a tow/impound when they remove you car for illegally parking?

I'm all for stanced 240s but stanced for the purpose of getting around parking charges is the kind of BS that gives car guys a bad name. I can tell you that if you did that here you would likely be turned in the first day a staff member or paying student saw you do it. I know how expensive parking is as I'm staff here and I pay $75 a month for my spot on campus and if I saw some jackhole sliping under the bar I'd have the PD on them in a quick min.

Wow, they charge you for parking even though you're staff? I understand what you're saying, I guess it is a little unfair... I should probably reconsider that idea. But anyways it would still be pretty fun to be able to pull off, I think I remember a shot of a Miata doing it a while back.

$75 is with a 50% staff discount. plus it's written off my taxes as a business expense.

I think undergrads have to park 6 or 7 blocks from where I am(not sure what they pay) and Graduate students/residents are charged $150 a month for my lot if they have extra spaces. Could I fit under the bar, probably pretty damn close in my 'vert. would I do it without paying, not a chance.

$300/semester to park on campus for me. Half the time there are no spots close to my dorm so I have to walk 1-2 blocks to get back to my dorm. I just keep my car parked on campus tho until I leave on Fridays.

Definitely was not talking about stock height. I just wasn't sure how low people have been able to get before.

Based on stock wheel gap, your wheel gap and any changes in the tire size you should be able to calculate the difference relatively easily
