Recommend Me a Laptop

So I'm graduating in May, and my parents are buying me a laptop for a graduation present. I'm down with getting a Mac, but I want to check out my other options first and try to save some money if it's worth it. I'll be using it for lots of internet browsing, word processing etc. but I also want to be able to play games on it if I wanted.

Thoughts?

In terms of build quality nothing really comes close to the MacBook/Pro's. I am a PC guy for desktops (I like the raw power and I use my desktop for different things, but I also only build my own rigs), but when it comes to laptops (and I have had/used them all) Apple is still my favorite because of their quality battery life and their customer service. That at the end of the day is most important to me.

And OS X is fantastic OS (depending on what you are doing).

MAC FTW. i love mine and always am dissapointed whenever i have to use someone elses non-mac computer or at the library or somethin...

x2 on the new 15" MBP that Apple just released, the hi-rez screen gives a lot of workable real estate in a 15" package, and the build quality is second to none.

I have an Hp and am pretty pleased with it. But I would've gotten a Mac if my school didn't "require" a pc for all the CAD programs, but next laptop will definitely be a mac.

Lucky man. I have to wait a bit and then I am going to sell my 13" and get a 15" like you have (with student discount of course) for next year.
