  • Test Driver help

hi i am enquiring about becoming a test driver. Cars and driving have always been a passion of mine ever since an early age and has just got stronger as I have grown older.

I own two cars, one of which I use for track use and have done all work on myself or with the help of a friend, Also a show car that I take to enthusiasts shows around the UK. Both of which I have spent a lot of time, money and more than anything a lot of hard work and enthusiasm has been put in to get them to the stage that they are at now. The only reason being my sheer enthusiasm to strive and learn by doing things myself. I also have been invloved in go karting for a long while aswell and always push myself.

I would like to for fill a dream of mine to become a test driver, and would like to know if anyone had any career opportunity’s for me or could even help me in pursuing a huge dream.

    Many Thanks

    Mark Rodway

Your best bet is too go to a driving school, and drive events that are sponsored by actual manufacturers. Get your name out there, build time, and basically get some sort of Driver's resume in a sense. I have no clue how to get in the scene, but its just a thought. Thumbs up to you for pursuing your dreams though.

Most professional drivers I've known have been hired in through lower levels of racing. Many other "test drivers" are retired racers. One of my friends is driveing to VW atm but it's not all that glamorous(or well paying) he drives all sorts of VWs, Audis, and Bentleys in circles around a test track in AZ for miles on end.
