  • Let's see your computer setup/specs

Alright so I'm a tech head. Recently I just did a new desktop build and many more, but I'm curious what you guys have.

    This is my current setup:
    AMD FX-6300 CPU
    MSI 970A-G46 Motherboard
    4GB Patrio 1600Mhz Ram
    600 Watt power supply
    Enermax Ostrog case
    Asus AMD R9 270

    Logitech Z4 Speakers
    Microsoft Sidewinder mouse
    Razer Naga MMOG mouse
Samsung 23 inch widescreen at 1920x1080

    Sorry for the mess

Works VERY nicely for anything I wanna do or play.

    Then My dinky lil' Mac:
Just a basic dual CPU PPC G5.
    In a desk.

I use it as a media/ music PC. Works nicely.

Show 'em! Gaming, rendering, dinosaurs from the 90's I don't care!

AMD II Athlon x4 630 stock clocking(2mb of L2 cache split between 4 cores with no L3 cache, it's the bottleneck that is killing my system)
Standard AMD Athlon II heat sink
    Corsair 2x 2gig ddr4(4gigs total)
180gb Vertex 2 OCZ 2.5" SSD(I have yet to install it, but I am going to use it as a boot drive)
1tb WD Caviar green(824 gigs used, of 931)
    MSI 790GX-G65
ATI Radeon 7850 2gigs of GDDR4 stock clock
    Cooler master Elite 335 case
    ANTEC 650w power supply
    Sceptre 20" LCD monitor
Creative sound system(it's a few years old, can't remember the model name, but it's a pretty nice one)
Gear Head wireless mouse(this fucker eats through batteries every 3 weeks), I should have gotten a wired gaming mouse
    Microsoft Laser Keyboard 6000

Eh, it's a pretty moderate system by today's standards, and I'm trying to keep it power efficient.

I also have a near identical computer to this, except that it has a 9800gt XLR8 in it and different RAM manufacturer.

Then there's the breadbox. It's a period correct gaming machine I guess. It was my dads computer back in like 2002, but when he moved to another apartment and started building another computer, I got this thing. Slowly I've been collecting good shit from 2005ish to fuck around on.

    AMD Sempron 3000+ OC'ed to 2.02ghz
    G Force 6200 512mb GDR2
    1.5 gigs of DDR2
old ECS mobo with an AM2 slot and 4 RAM slots
    Rosewill 400w power supply
300 gig PATA hard drive that's failing
    Ugly tan case

I also have an old ANTEC Lanboy frankenstein sitting around with a Micro ATX mobo, amd athlon 4200+ and a crappy ATI radeon 3650 with a huge heatsink and no fan.

I'll get pics later. It's too late.

I miss having a real rig, haven't built anything since like Junior year of high school.

Right now I'm rocking a late-2011 Macbook Pro
            2.2 ghz i7
AMD Radeon HD 6750M 512 MB
8 GB of RAM (upped from 4)
Matte hi-res 1680x1050 screen (which I swapped out recently from the standard glossy 1440x900 screen).
Removed the CD drive and replaced it with an optibay and a 1 TB HDD
Ditched the original 250 GB HDD in favor a 500 GB 7200 RPM drive. (I need a ton of storage for photos).

              Build my first pc a few months ago. Not too shabby for a student;

              - Intel i7 4770 3,9Ghzb ( don't need overclocking so it's cool for now)
              - MSI B85-G41 motherboard
              - MSI G-force gtx-770
              - 2x4GB of RAM (Barracuda or something)
              - 1TB HDD
              - 120GB SSD Samsung (just for os and most important programs)
              - Corsair 600watt power supply
              - Corsair case. (Some type that was in sale at that moment)
              - LG ips277l-bn 20" 1920x1280 monitor
              - Basic mouse & keyboard.
              - Philips speakers and subwoofer, nothing new but they'll do the job

Works absolutly perfect for 3D modeling as well as gaming.

For other graphic work like photoshop, illustrator and Indesign i'm using my 15" MacBook Pro because of it's Retina display
