Motorized bicycle thread

Post up pictures of any motorized bikes you built or owned. I've been looking for a good engine kit but have no idea where to start. My plan so far is to pick up a 26" bike and modify the frame, paint it black, change it to fixed gear, make a custom seat, and run a 24" wheel in the back.

So if anyone's built one or has any ideas. Post them up.

Man, wish I coulda seen it. Anyway my build will only be around $250. I picked up a cheap bike from work today - $14.03. I mixed and matched parts onto a "clearanced out" Rallye frame. So it has the 24" rear wheel. I stripped all the decals off. Then ordered a black 80cc engine kit from ebay. They all looked like chinese shit, so I figured I'd save some money and go ebay. The parts are super cheap anyway. Sorry for the shitty pic.

A friend of mines that I painted for him. Neat little toys, and cheap to build.

Looks good.
I think I'm gonna go for a cafe racer look. I plan to keep it nice and tidy. Maybe a wider brown leather seat, motorcycle style forks, different handle bars, expansion chamber exhaust, performance head and carb. oh and wrap the exhaust.

That's bad ass! How much did the parts and everything cost to make that?

have you considered shorter and wider handle bars?

Total about $350 if I hadn't wasted money on parts I didn't use, like a 20" rear wheel.

I actually had flipped mtb handle bars on it, but I'm only 5'6", so it was rather painful leaning that far forward

Might be a retarded question but is this road legal in America? In the Netherlands you'll get pulled over in seconds and receive an fine for driving an unregistered motorized vehicle.

Actually Motor "assisted" vehicles are not addressed in the law in any state except California. So, it's up to the local authorities if they want to ticket you for it, but so far the coppers have just waved and drove on.
