Head unit recommendations?

Hey everyone, so currently I am using a cassette auxilary input in my 95 e36 M3. I would go with the newer oem unit and DICE but it wont work in my car without some extra modifcations; not to mention its too expensive for what it is. Anyways, I am looking for something that matches the oem/matte black finish. Nothing too flashy.

I do want at least a rear USB port and ipod control. Bluetooth audio stream and phone would be a plus. Let me know what you guys have.

I wish that would work, unfortunately, they are made for 96-99. My 95 uses the M-bus rather than I-bus (might have flipped that around) which is needed for the bavsound or dice interfaces to work. Trust me, I would get it otherwise. The time, effort and cost to make it work/convert just isnt worth it.

bavsound/ dice/ spec are as expensive as a really nice head unit that does what they do and alot more.
Really even premuim sound systems in 90's bmw's are really sad.

Another option if you want even better sound is that if you have room for a double din, just throw a tablet in there.
You'd loose over the air radio probably but whatever, it's a bit more techy than installing just a headunit too but the benefits are badasaa
A first generation nexus 7 is like 65 bucks now and can do hell of alot more than a double din( which cost like 700 bucks for a nice one)
just tether it with your phone and you can get streaming music and voice activated turn by turn and all that shit.

Just bypass the stock amps (they're shit like .5 thd for the doors and 10% for the sub amps (if you have one))
get a ok 4 channel and youre set, add a monoblock and a sub if your into that.
Costs
65 for a cheapo tablet
like 80 bucks for a 4 channel

My dad's got one in his z3 and its really cool, you can change the illumination to match the dash/ center console perfectly. Has all that shit you want, crazy amounts of features. looks pretty at home in his car too.

Plus it sounds so much better than the stock headunit on the same speakers, it really impressed me and im a bit of an "audiophile"

I have no problem installing a tablet; installed my own carputer in my old MR2 back in high school. While it would be awesome...its not really what I am going for. It wouldnt fit the look of the car and is more work than I am willing to put in; all I want is music and maybe phone.

Those kenwoods are actually the only headunits that I have found that fit. Looking to see if there are other options but so far one of those are it.
