      Incredibly capable car: Yes.

      Reliable, fun, drivable car: No.

Warranties aside. Wouldn't you call the E46 M3 and amazing piece of machinery? What about the major engine bearing problem in the early models?

No. I don't call it amazing. The E36 M3 though... more amazing. Same motor(new at the time). 6sp trans. Well built. 100hp per liter. Definitely was an amazing machine. The S50B32 was and is a beast.

S54 M3 is bloated. Heavy. Has a whopping 12hp more than the S50B32 equipped euro M3. Not really a fan of the E46 M3. It is a great daily that can be tracked. It is a good car. Just not amazing IMO.

That guy should just put full coverage on his GT-R and have somebody steal it and total it..

Why would you build a feature into a car if you didn't want people to use it?

The GTR's main selling point is its prowess at the track, but if you take the car to the track, which probably entails launching it, you just voided your warranty twice.

I'll stick with my old-ass car, thanks.

my thoughts exactly! why make launch control available if you can use it without screwing your self royally? dont they have the the feature where it has tracks programmed into the gps and it knows when you go to one and takes off the speed limit etc, but you must have the car serviced within 2 days of tracking it or you void warranty?

                  that is what i heard.

it also says in the manual that the clutch needs to be "adjusted ". meaning that when you have the car serviced at the dealer, they electronically adjust the clutch engagement point in the trans ecu. if this is not done within 2 days of using launch control, the warranty is void. the clutch needs to be adjusted after 6-7 launches, so more than that amount between adjustments=void.
                  gooby pls

When Nissan's corp. office moved here I was surprised that so few of their employees drive nissans, then the GTR failures started popping up in the interwebs and I suddenly understood why the exec's garages are full of BMWs, benzs, and audis.
