this. i know it seems like a good idea at first. its not. make sure its reliable. i thought i would be able to daily my bug when i bought that, and if i ever got that thing running, i guarantee it would have broken down on its first trip.

now i just have the e28. the springs are cut and the motor is stock. besides general maintenance, it has never let me down

I suggest you remove your head from your ass and make your own decision based on lots of research and consideration. Letting a forum decide what you should spend your hard-earned money on is a pretty asinine thing to do.

Furthermore, making your daily driver your "project car" is a horrible idea, especially since you only have street parking.

    Basic requirements:
    -Reliable
-Built "solid" (the larger car the better, kinda tired of smaller cars)
-Not prone to rust as this will be an all-season car
    -Fun to drive
    -Looks kinda cool
    -Not played outBONUS:
-Can be made relatively quick for cheap (not Ferrari 458 fast, but not 36 horse Beetle slow either )
-No swaps (I did some before though...)

I was thinking about a Volvo 850 with the T5. Coils, S80 wheels, OBX exhaust and a ARD Green remap...

Say StanceWorks, what do you suggest?
There's your first problem. You sound like someone who's just out for approval from others. At the end of the day, buy what you wand and do it for yourself, not everyone else.

    Volvo all the way.
I built my current 88 740 turbo, including buying the car, for less than 1500 bucks. Just gotta be creative.
But more importantly, I haven't had a single issue with it being driven daily. They are very bulletproof cars.

850 is kind of boxy looking. Wagon dropped and filled out, could work. I seem to recall a build going on, red one, think it was also in Canada.

Me, E36-is a great platform. Right now can find them cheap. A few mods and it looks great. Once you take care of the well known issues, dependable. Room for 4, and even with airlift room in the trunk. Most of all you don't have to hear VOLVO! what the hell.

i know you said you don't want small but a mini cooper s is pretty cheap now and they are reliable fun. minor mods make them quicker than they already are.

it's hard for me to imagine why people don't like volvos, especially 240s. 240s are great. get a 240.
