Are you basing your winch off Distortion's Grinch?

No not really, I'm friends with Adam who owns Distortion so I would not want to straight rip off his winch. I mean, the engine and mechanical parts are (for the most part) the same across the board regardless of whether its built by a company or built by yourself. What really differentiates all these winches is, in my mind, the frame that it sits on. My buddy and I will be fabricating one ourselves and I know he has some ideas in mind.

When the sun comes out, most of this goes away as I like to just float around in my pool with a coconut cup full of rum and cola listening to some music with cute girls laying around on my patio sun tanning, then the sun goes down, we fire up the grill and turn on the projector and eat dinner drive in style on a 12'x8' movie screen in my back yard.

Yea, a camp down here called Swim Gym has 2. I've worked as a wakeboard/wakeskate coach there for the past two summers so I'm pretty familiar with them.
This past summer, the engine and mechanical components from the old green models were transferred into the new black frames, and in terms of design, size, and weight, the difference was night and day. His winch is definitely one of the best on the market right now.

Huh... never heard of Swim Gym. I tried checking out their site but it seems as if its down. So it's a place for swim/wakeboard/wakeskate instructions? Seems pretty cool though. Whereabouts in Miami? I used to ride in Miami Lakes and Opa Locka, where that other wake camp used to be.

We actually used one of the black ones yesterday, we were out filming for a video. The Grinch is a great system but there are areas where they could improve on in terms of weight. That and this one had no wheels on it.
