I've always been a Mustang fan too, but those factory-prepped Cobra Jets are pretty expensive for what they are.
Nearly $100k for a base Mustang that they put a slightly modified GT500 motor into, and a dialed-in drag suspension.
I love it, but I think it could be built for cheaper. Of course, I suppose if one had the money and just wanted a prepped drag car without getting their hands dirty, this would be the way to go.
They're also a fully-prepared, professional-level race car. Considering the level of engineering and preparation put into the car, it is a bargain. Don't lose track of the fact that it is 100% NHRA approved and race-ready.
First of all you get rarity, second: for that price ALL the work is done, third: svt claimed the thing to run in the 8.5 range? in the quarter? thats retarded. If you can figure out a way for a car to hook off the line, and run that time, without taking flight, consecutively, usually itll cost you as much or more then what theyre asking for the cobra jet.
IMO, from my limited knowledge of drag racing, its worth it.
^ I was just about to say that about the 1/4 mile times.
Oh, and the blower is a 4.0L....A 4.0L SUPERCHARGER The factory rating of 475HP is so pathetic it might as well be a joke. That engine is easily making 575.
