  • Man Trades In $1.6 Million Bugatti Veyron For Corvette ZR1, Doesn't Look Back

A Texas Chevy dealer just accepted the trade-in of a red-on-black $1.6 million Bugatti Veyron for a $100,000 Corvette ZR1. We knew the fiercest of all 'Vettes was a world-beater, but this is ridiculous! Exclusive photos, details below. UPDATE!

Sounds like this is a guy with his head on straight.

I wouldn't buy a Veyron even if I had the money.

I wouldn't mind a Veyron, but I wouldn't idolize it. Just because its the fastest car in the world doesn't mean you can have the most fun on it. How many times do you actually hit 250, I guarantee you that guy didn't take the car past 200. Its nice to try the other things out there, and not be a little fanboy jackass. I bet that corvette is a lot more fun than the Veyron.

Misleading article. I'm sure he didn't straight-trade it. I'm sure he got a stack of cash with his ZR1.

ZR1 Is a way more practical car. And I guarentee the dealership gave him more then the ZR1 and "some cash" probably in the sum of $1.4 million...

...when it accepted a Euro-bombing 2008 Bugatti Veyron with just 2,307 miles for an unabashedly American Corvette ZR1 and some cash... the dealership told us they wouldn't accept the trade-in until they lined up a buyer...

For sure, he might be down to earth and practical, but a man that owns a petroleum company and owns a Bugatti is not stupid.

Even if one had the 1.6 million to purchase a Veyron, the amount of additional funding just to keep the thing in running order is ridiculous. money aside I don't think I would ever have the nuts to own one.

                  I lol'd at this comment:

[i]Bugatti Veyron Fun Fact: To create the incredibly ugly paint combination shown here, Bugatti used the blood of twelve endangered California Condors for the red section and scraped some of the material off the edge of the universe for the Black part. You can see where they did it if you look real close just below Orion's belt.]/i]

I could understand him wanting to get rid of the horrible looking veyron. But i would still have gotten something else.

Maybe a Porsche Carrer GT. The veyron isnt pretty, but it is a special car. I wouldnt change it for somthing else, i'd just start chaning the veyron.

                      +1 I'd rather have a CCXR and a Zonda.

It isn't the fastest car in the world.

They said that there was cash involved in the trade, but didn't say how much.
