What I stated was fact. Just because some people "track" their cars with cheap, knockoff wheels, does not make them just as good as the real-deal.
I'm not getting into another argument about replica wheels vs. real wheels. If you stick up for replicas, then you're one of those people who doesn't do their homework.BB6 Prelude . . E36 ///M3 . . VA WRX Limited . . 1969 Nova

That's some interesting homework because tens of thousands of people track Rotas all the time. Sure, Rota had QC issues many years back, hence the pictures that float around the web, just as HRE, Fikse, SSR and many other brand names did. Off hand I know Rota is certified in JWL (Japanese testing standard), VIA (independent JWL testing organization) and TUV (German testing standard and independent). Do you realize how many aftermarket wheels in the US are not independently tested because there are no performance standards to meet like in Germany and Japan and are gravity cast? And you bitch about Rotas, a mass producer of OEM wheels. Also the point of forged wheels are to make wheels lighter, not necessarily stronger. Forging just allows the designer to use less material. This is why Rota wheels often look blatanly different and/or have much thicker spokes than their original, forged counterparts. Forged wheels use forged centers and flow formed barrels. WORK uses low pressure CAST centers just as Rota now uses low pressure cast. Do you know how many super cars and $100k+ cars come from the factory on cast wheels? Few cars even benefit much from a forged wheel. Why pay Volk money for the poor specs they offer at their retail prices when it doesn't even offer much of a benefit, especially for a street car? I blame Volk for not offering a low pressure cast and flow formed TE37, as one example, as a more practical wheel for consumers who don't need to shave that extra few pounds. Forging is a very wasteful and therefore expensive process that just doesn't really offer the value to most consumers relative to the increased cost. So here's Rota filling that market need by passing savings directly to consumers. More value for the money for most consumers, simple ecomomics. Fuck, even Porsche doesn't think forging is worth it for their GT3. And at least Rota is open about the fact that they take inspiration from other manufacturers and their goal of offering sought after designs at a greater value to the average consumer.
I ain't going out and buying Rotas. It's just an objective point of view that doesn't include posting google images of the same broken rotas because I think I'm cool because I have 15 year old 2pc BBS. It's also not coming from a cheap subie owner that thinks Rotas are god because I haven't had any issues.
