You are most likely going to have to remove the truck bed, and cut through it to allow the axle to sit through the bed. Most people leave the space open, others fill it. You will have to remove the bed to do the work and maybe even drive the car w/o a bed for a while. There might be fitment issues in the front/frame rail depending on how low you want to go and the tire/wheel size. Def. look into a forum before you tackle this or decide to do so, because although it can be fairly simple, there can be complications. Thats if you want slam, because s10 aren't like vw's where you swap struts and you are done. As for tool go, you basics(bolt set and a ratchet, drill, hammer, a grinder, breaker bar, torque wrench). Your gonna need these things for 240 eventually so buy things as you need them, dont go overboard. And try to find someone local who has bagged a mini truck that can mentor you on the do's and dont's. That is assuming you have the space to do this, if not you might have to try a shop.

I was gonna ride without the bed anyways from time to time. There's one that's always passin my HS at lunch with airbags.. I should follow him and ask him. I'm prolly gonna take out the wheel-well too. My uncle was rebuilding an old mustang until a storm hit and fucked up the build. He'll probably have the tools I need. If I don't have a lot of time I'll just take it to the shop, it'll give me enough time to finish whatever I need.|My Blog|flickr| Currently own: '96 S-10, and '97 Maxima; Soon to own: '95 S14
