Btw, is it worth it to just buy a engine set rather than a engine/trans? I could always just wait for a good deal on a W58 or R154 right? I'll probably buy the engine and get it all ready before I swap anyway.

you COULD, im somewhat in the market for a r154/W58 to go with a 2jz-GE shortblock i have that could potentially be built in the future.

thing is that the best deal is buying it together. ive seen used r154's go for 300 - 1k. i wouldn't use a w58 on a TT motor either

Well, E46 owner said he'd meet me and my friend at whatever airport we choose.

if you already have a 1j and it blows then that long block for 1k is the way to go but that'll never happen
