Interesting. What sucks is that I really want to work on my car, and do the swap. It would help me in the future for diagnosing issues and it would give me a chance to get my hands dirty.

if you get the harness done and have an experienced buddy whose done HG's, torquing down and some intermediate mechanical skills it not crazy.

not easy but def not crazy. worst part for a beginner is prob diagnosing why it idles like shit(checking vac leaks, IACV etc) and setting the TPS.
