From what I got, a friend he's known for 10 years was in a gang or trying to get into a gang which he was told to kill a random person. The Ross dude was shot twice with a shotgun and basically left for dead in east Detroit. Fast forward, he survived that and the "friend" was already in custody. Ross got to testify against him while he was all bandaged up going through therapy, and he ended up getting 35 yrs. If Ross was dead, he would get life...
