Hey guys, didn't really know where to post my question so I just came here. I live in the UK, I'm currently 15 years old and I'm starting to get my driving lessons and also buying a car in about one and a half years, and so I need to start saving up money now, can you guys give me good advice on what to save up for? The reason for me asking this on a car modding forum is because I really, really, really don't want a 1.0 Corsa or something along these lines, of course I'd rather it be something low in cost and not so expensive to run but as I said, not something that's too slow. I'm looking up to 1,500 pounds. Also I was thinking of a 1.4 Golf MK4? Help would me much apprecieated

Sup. I'm from the UK. My boyfriend is currently trying to insure his modified corsa, lowest quote was 4k. I'm driving a Morris 1000, its costing me £500 a year and the inital buy cost of the car was £450.

A 1.4 Golf Mk4 will be way out of budget for insurance. Please go for something older and cheaper! I know its a pain in the ass and not what you want, but its a good idea until you can save up for something you really want.

Think out of the box - a friend of mine drives a Golf Estate - that thing is costing her £900 a year insurance and it goes like a mule on steroids! She's not kind to it either!

Also don't shy away from small engines. If its something Jap a small engine can pack a lot of punch. they're expert at that.
