Lol, e36 m3s are down to like 5, and I know of 3 people that have gotten into e46 m3s for 10k or less.

thats not typical though or maybe a cali thing but a decent e46 m3 cant be had for less than 16k out here and 9k for e36 m3's

e36 M3's are almost 20 years old, probably have 200k or so miles, are beat to hell, and were what 35k to begin with?

I find it hard to believe that a good e46 could be had for 10k or less
when I was looking, I couldn't find a good one for less than 17k
