I know E30 guys do that swap, I don't see a reason why it wouldn't work in an E36.

yes and no, i think the seals might have dried out while it was on jackstands since i had drained all the PS fluid and it WAS leaking slowly but today i noticed a serious puddle and when i jack up the car BOOM a steady drip from the hardline that goes in to the rack.

my original 1j ecu is a faggot too, shit is super unstable and i cant run the mines ecu till i beef up the rear end with my diff so yea....

im slowly replacing EVERY part on the car at this point. only the subframes were retained. with my luck the whole subframe is gonna rip out. so i guess i better get those bushings before a disaster

plus my ever growing love for s2k's is at a all time high right now...i just dont know.

e46 rack swap is not normally done in the e30, e36 is the way to go.
