Well I did all the parts I needed and I was under $2k. But then added $500 for the "oh shit" problems. Went on turnermotorsports and bimmerworld and I guessed they upped there prices because im at like $2400 for all the parts, so upped to $600 for "oh shit" problems. Still $3k is only a grand more then when I just replaced the transmission.

Agreed. This whole transmission problem should have never happened tho. When the first one went out in July of last year, I told my mom the only way to fix it would be the 5speed swap. So I told her I needed about 4k for everything including labor. Well she wasnt down with that and just told my mechanic to replace the auto trans since she was paying for it. Well now I told her this would happen and her reply is "oh well". Thank god for my grandpa or i'd be fuckd.
