        • Lowering blocks. What size recommendations, also looking at how to wind down torsion bars without too much strain?

No idea on the torsion bars, i'd go for 3 inch blocks but I think you have to weld them to the axle for a bit more stability.

I have a handy father that could do that, though not sure if he'd agree to it! Been looking at a spax conversion for the front, but again welding and £300, which I can't afford as a poor student. Oh woe is me

1.5 inches would bring me down a bit.

Always handy to know someone that knows what they're doing!
Got the same problem with my anglia, £100 for some 2nd hand cortina struts then a further £350 to have them converted to coilovers plus all the other extras, eff that ish! cut springs it is!

Just get new torshion keys. Or reweld your current ones.

He rewelded her floor for me, got it all MOT worthy, he's very useful, but unless I'm going the complete hotrod route, he doesn't approve of mods.
Have you tried googling coilover conversion anglia?

It would bring you down an inch and a half, which is a waste of time.

Elaborate more? I've never heard of rewelding or keys..

I'm looking for larger ones, if not I'm sure I could get them machined. The problem with lowering the rear as much as I'd like to, is the bringing the front down to avoid reverse rake, which I do not want.
Oh the trials of lowering non coilover cars.
