Coupons are awesome, I like pulling them on an expensive shop, and the cashier is always confused on how to combine them all.
Also I like to go "student discount?" at the checkout - so many shops don't have it advertised. I got 25% off in YO! Sushi the other week, then added a 1/3 off voucher and paid about $5 for both me and my mum to get full on sushi. Also 15% off in Krispy Kreme. Win.

Also I have no idea if you guys have it in the US, but its called Freecycle, basically people offer up shit they don't need any more for free, and you can claim it, so long as every now and then you offer something - I've had some really nice free analog lenses off there and a huge collection of jam-jars. I've seen houses offered, and cars.
