Installing a shiftlight was pure fail. I tried 2 locations to get the tach reading, and nothing.

on the injector there are 2 wires. one wire is common on every one. the other is different

example

red - blue
red - green
red - purple
red - black

the color that isnt common is the tach signal

How would that work? I have electronic ignition with 6 different coil packs. I googled it and checked shopkey and both say pin 20 on the white connecter in the instrument cluster is the engine speed. Found that the wire to pin 20 is black (seams odd to me because black is usually ground) but I sliced into that and nothing.
