No, just lots of play in the steering, i've talked to my e34 friend and he says it happens to all of them, his is about as bad as mine if not even worse, and I guess they have different racks than anything else ao you can't swap anything in, I would you could buy an oem rack but in guess that's the big bucks

do they cut off your lights now? my projectors have perfect cut. but they are Euro spec, so i dont know if TUV or whoever regulated that early on
