Hopefully having a orbital sander will keep me away from the wavy effect, thank you wise man AndyBob

You should be ok with an orbital now. Just so you know though, never use an orbital on something you just primed. That should be sanded by hand with a sanding block. When wet-sanding primer, all your doing is taking off the little 'nibs' that are created when the matierial is applied. There is no way around it

Ok, I'm not going to re-primer it. It's going to leave the garage and go straight to the shop.
Well at least now I know a problem I can avoid next time, power tools are not precise.
