but i agree dude, harleys are pretty weaksauce. probably has something to do with the drivers and other such stereotypes.

but even their styling isn't my cup of tea. i blame my englishness. i'd rather have a triumph or bsa

English bikes are soooo much better anyway, (and they sound a poop load better). My Dad has been riding for like 30+ years and he says harleys are like muscle cars, only good if you want to go in a straight line, and want to die at the end because the brakes suck.

so i might have only just made that muscle car/harley connection. high torque, poor handling, really loud vs lighter, sexier, better around the corners.

but yeah, the history behind european bikes is what really draws me to them. (i'm a diehard bmw fan in all regards, they're some of my favorite old bikes. my dad actually bought himself an 80s R80 in germany. so sad he won't be shipping it home. but then again, it is an excuse for him to fly us both out there and have a top gear-style adventure)
