Related... they're repaving a road near my office. I drove down it earlier this week while going to lunch. The section I was on had the old asphalt removed and nearly straddled a manhole that was raised a good 4 inches above the surface. Luckily I saw it in time to swerve and hit it with my tires. Not great but less damage than hitting the underside of the car.

I just plow over shit with my car, if something breaks, I'll raise the car, call insurance, once they say the car is totalled, get a e36, be done.

Luckily with our MINI's the oil pan sits flush with the subframe.

E46 pans are ridiculously high. When we drop my girlfriends beetle I'm getting her 1" motormount spacers, a hybrid pan, and a skidplate
