 I had to do this to my old red Accord, aluminum pan was stripped completely. Ed's got a specific drill and grease that he uses to drill oil pans while minimizing leftover metal shards. He's done several dozen cars this way, and I've already got a quart of shitty Mobil 1 full synthetic to flush my motor with afterwards. I don't like watching my car piss Motul all over the ground.  I run Motul 8100 XCess in the M3. At $10/quart it's certainly nowhere near cheap.
