Not even using the teacher's directions that gave all the IP's, Routing tables and other shit would work. Fucking crap. That and trying to Hyperterminal into Cisco switches in Win 7 was crap too. I just used virtual XP mode.

You should have just adjusted. 7 is currently the best version of Windows. I'm still one of the only people that liked Vista, but 7 is pretty fantastic. I see 7 being supported similarly to XP. Fuck 8 though.

Oh shit Cisco Packet Tracer was the program that replicated Cisco equipment? Fuck yeah I used that. I had a copy on my old desktop. That was a really well set up program and really, really useful.

For me it depended on the switch and the program. I wasted my time a bit with that and switched to Putty or Teraterm

It was good for setting up a network virtually, but my class had pre done exercises to do that were completely shit.

Yeah, but you learn a ton even using pre-set exercises. That program is well worth the time it takes to get acquainted with it.
