and how do spacers work on bmw since they use studs/bolts to hold the wheels to the hub? unlike my honda which has studs and nuts.

I'm guessing hubcentric spacers and longer bolts.

Either longer bolts or adapters with studs pressed in. You could also run a stud conversion and regular spacers.
