Yeah that's what it was. The tie bolt broke, god only know how long ago, and four leaves were missing from the bottom of the setup. Even though we bought new ones the old man wanted to wrench them off to have them for a later date. I never fully understand what goes through his head sometimes. We could have burnt through them but the threads on both of them looked great after the nuts finally came off. If any U-bolts get messed up in the future I suppose he will have a really cheap fix.
