I remember last year I had an interview for a dope job.
Fucking trainee help desk job for the state. A cake walk and it started at 50k a year with a 10k pay raise after 1 year. Full benefits, pension, etc. They said I was the best and last interview, made it sound like I was a shoe in. Got a call a few weeks later that someone from within the state had gotten the job.

I'm at the point now though where I can't wait that long. If they aren't interested they need to tell me now so I can move on. When you say, "I need you to do this, how does $xxx,xxx sound?" that makes me think I don't need to go out of my way to find a job now.

Fuck that. These guys said "expect a direct hire offer letter in the next week or so", "we need you to start asap so we can get you back in by the beg of Feb". Still nothing though. I got a response from the HR person, but she said she will get back to me soon. My assumption is that this is shitty timing with the holidays, but I wish they would at least tell me "Hey we are still working on the numbers, but expect something soon" instead of nothing at all.
