Morning all. Woke up a half hour late, made coffee, stood around and talked to a co-worker about cars and tools for a half hour, and finally got to my desk by 8:30. My entire department is empty still.

I do behind the scenes programming for a phone company. We have service in close to 20 states and I work our west coast properties. Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, and a little part of Montana.

Its a pretty interesting job. Never knew how much work went into providing phone service.

Oh snap, one of my best friends does something similar. He's a project manager for AT&T, dealing with creating programs for their back-of-house operations. Since he works for one of the biggest telcos in the country, his compensation package fills me with rage.

I wish I got a fucking $6k bonus every year.

EAS is terrible at Photoshop. That virtual rig shot (and that's totally VR, not a legit rig) looks so hokey and obvious.

Although there's room for improvement here, too; the mountains shouldn't be nearly that blurred (especially not the same amt of blur as the road beneath the car), since it's so far off in the background. OEMs have been using VR for years; it's so much easier to take a still of the car and Photoshop the rest; otherwise you could spend 10 hours trying to capture a single shot like that.

I would like to, but I'm not going if I have to pay out of pocket. No way, no how, unless I'm taking it as a vacation time, non-work-affiliated. I'll just be Andrew From The Internet that weekend, out to drink and smoke and party my ass off while occasionally snapping pictures for my own enjoyment.

Also, I've just become instantly disgusted with life. There's this guy that used to own a E92 M3, with his own personally-designed body kits on it. Every show, he had a bunch of models and shit around him. His house is larger than all the houses I've ever lived in, combined. Apparently, he's "fallen on hard times" and had to sell his M3.

So a local photog set up a group to give DONATIONS to this guy so that he can build another BMW. Donations. Charity. To a rich man. So he can get another BMW and have models hanging off him again.

Fuck that. You really think my poor ass is going to give that man money because I feel BAD for him? I don't feel SHIT for him. I've never owned a BMW, I've never had models hanging off me, why the fuck should I give money to this guy?

I'm going to donate $10 to the Red Cross today instead. To give money to people who, you know, NEED it.

Last year we just did Eurowerks. Apparently MFest was a little lackluster, so we're glad we didn't go.

If I have to steal Gold Wheels and drive it to a fucking show myself next year, I will.

Trust me, I'd love to chill with you guys. But with my tires exploding and shit, it's just one financial setback after another. But I do have $600 coming my way from my last round of Total 911 freelancing, so provided I can keep saving over winter, I should be able to take a trip or two next year.

Now I just need to convince Marilynn + OJ to give me 15 days PTO next year, rather than just 10.

The only people that have given to him are fellow rich people and a couple well-off businesses. He's got $147 in the bank for his build thus far.

I took great satisfaction logging into the FMU-Person Facebook account and denying the invite. If people ask why, my reason will be thus: "We're busy trying to give our employees enough money so they can all buy their first BMWs."
