yeah, that's cause the smaller cylinder cant displace enough fluid to move a slave that will disengage the clutch.

But i have trick for you stu, i could be way off on this but r154 supra trannys have a self adjusting slave cylinder. basically when your clutch starts getting mushy and shit it actually extends the rod farther to not compromise engagement points of the pedal

Hmm. That sounds awesome, you could try that I suppose, I don't see why not. Actually wait! I was talking to the guy who built that Miata with the 302, who everyone thinks is a douche, and now has the Ariel looking contraption. He said you can just use cheap, Miata parts. Perhaps send him a pm and see what his setup is?
