Yup. Unless you get a company car, and they pay for gas, gets out of hand fast. My dad bought a prius and that really cut down on gas costs, but in 3 years he put 100k on it, 62 miles each way for 6 years...

werd. I drive 550+ miles a week. on average I spend $450-500 a month on gas. Moving 13miles closer will save me almost $150 a month on gas and like 90mins a day drive time.

I'll probably be buying a Chevy Cruze (alongside the Audi) or something like that that gets ridiculous mileage. Also a buddy of mine lives in the area and we can carpool.

Age doesn't really matter when it comes to houses, as long as its been updated. Sometimes its actually nicer to have an older house, they tend to have more character and design additions that newer cookie cutter homes lack.

And I highly doubt that it'd be that big of a difference in price, but I havent done any research in that area of the US.
