Now that you mention it, the front of the fender (on the inside) has a lip that was a little jagged from initial turning/rubbing after slamming it, thats probably it.

I had a screw there on my drivers side from a sensor or some shit that was mounted in the engine bay. it destroyed my tire when my suspension committed suicide
