How did it become messed up to begin with?

The kid that had it before me cranked down on the inlet side and collapsed some of the carbon. I had to heat it up and re-shape it back to normal to fit my cars ridiculously sized throttle body. And, he had a 5" filter on it, wedged about 3" up of the actual flange, which caused it to wrinkle. Fucking amateurs.

A little heat, a little massaging, and a few burns on my fingers, and it's as good as gold.
