A line lock is so you can just lock up the front brakes to do a burnout. So you don't have to waste your rear brakes and do a brakestand.

Yes, for launching. You can basically pre-load the fuck out of the torque converter and let it all go at once- makes for awesome launches without killing your brakes or your rear diff.

Pretty much. It's a solenoid that activates only the front two brakes, and seals off the lines for the rear two lines. So, you can step on the brakes and do a nasty burnout with just the front brakes holding it in place.

We have one on our Nova. And it is awesome.

Edit: Here you go Jaze. They're also called "roll control" kits- a lot of guys use them to keep two feet free when staging.
