Go to a parts store and see if they sell belt dressing. I've used it before and it works pretty good. I'd use it on my belts, but they are too far gone.

Also make sure your tension is good. If it is an auto-tensioner it could be wearing out or its froze up (happens a lot more than you would think, ran into this a few times when I was working in the shop). If its not that style and there is a threaded rod or something (that's how mine are) you could try tightening it up a little to see what that gets you.

I think I have an auto tensioner cos I've read other owners replacing them. I'll do further inspection next time I work on the car.
