Not at all, the M still gets the widebody, S54, suspension, etc. I'm just curious as to why more people didn't buy the coupe non-m, they're better looking IMO.

There is absolutely 0 point to buying a tiny coupe like that if it doesn't have power. Thats something a gay dude or a women would do, they wouldn't care about power they would just want something cute.
So they wouldn't see the point in spending 10-20k more for the M version.

Its like buying the 6 cylinder mustang, or the 6 cylinder NA 3000gt, etc.

230 HP 220 TQ... It's not ton, but enough to get out of it's own way, and definitely enough to have fun.

In a 3,250-3,500 pound car.....

They make a good drift missile, but thats besides the point.
There is only one level of performance with them (not including the limited MSM).
If they had a more powerful model it would be the same case.
Also they have the functionality of a inexpensive vert.

Why would anyone buy a non-M BMW in general? Why get a car with the smaller engine? Why buy a Honda when for the same money you can get a faster, better handling, more luxurious german car with similar reliability. Your argument is irrelevant.

And then there is the newer spec Z4 with the N54 300 hp 300 tq, add a tune and exhaust to it and they make 350 whp easy. Gotta love a TT I6.
