Some dipshit cut me off. Options were hit him and total my car ( I was doing about 55mph which was the speed limit) or swerve and probably become friendly with the sidewalk. I chose sidewalk and surprised there wasn't more damage.Comment

I pretty much made a dumb choice when I used to commute, but I got very lucky.
I was on a narrow country backroad doing 70 in a 55. There were 2 people outside their home, in their gravel driveway messing with a 4 wheeler. Across the street was a puppy, which was trotting across the road going to the people...
Options were; swerve and avoid the puppy but risk going into a ditch, or hit the puppy in front of its' owners. I swerved to the right, RR tire caught a bit of gravel when I happen to shift momentum back. Somehow, it's like if I was prepared for the momentum shift and counter-steered just enough to keep going. Pretty damn lucky, and also saw the people grab the puppy which I'm pretty sure they were glad I avoided it.
