Exactly. I'm not Ford guy either, but just minor stuff free's them up so much. Its basically just because it was the base of so many different engines in a range of vehicles. So they would just restrict stuff/ put cheaper stuff on depending on the model.

Price wise? Running ones from fox body's explorers go for about $300 depending where you get them. Got mine for $350 with some aftermarket bits and shorty headers.
