I'm not trying to be a smartass, I've just always wondered this. I know Work, Wald, and SSR all make great wheels, just wondering why each company made very similar wheels.

there's a difference between companies creating similar style high quality wheels and companies making subtle differences to quality wheels just enough to avoid the long dick of the law to create shitty quality wheels.

there are a lot of very similar 5 spoke, mesh, etc style wheels from different companies...i mean there is really only so much you can do to make a different design in a wheel. but they aren't subtly changing the design to just undermine them with shitty quality fakes.

I did some research and what I gathered was the 5-spoke dish style wheel was fairly popular at one point and I think each company made that style of wheel to fit the demand. It wasn't about copying designs, each made what the consumer wanted. Simple as that.
