After some digging i found out that first factory fitted air suspension came on 1946..

After that cadillac had air suspension as option in 1950's eldorados at least.. so air suspension really goes far as those benzes so why not?

EDIT: More to this shit Benz had air suspension also as option in later W112 model in 1960's
