Buying a W114/115

Hi all

Im looking to get rid of my MINI as the repair bills are starting to get stupid now. Ive always been a big fan of the W114/115 especially when they are lowered and sitting right.
So think its time I went from modern to classic if I was to get one it will become my new daily so need make sure it be ok and more reliable than what ive got at the moment. I notice few people on here have them and was wondering if there could help me out on few questions I have about them:

1. What they like as a daily car?

2. What model is best to go for?

3. Are repair costs high on them for engine work as well as body work?

4. Any issues to look out for when buying one?

I have a W115 300D, it is pretty great.. Keep in mind, they are great dailies, but acceleration is terrible.

Any parts will have the german car tax as well. You are better to get the 240D or 300D as far as reliability goes. If its taken care of and not abused you can easily go 500k without ever having to do more than change the oil/glow plugs/brakes/etc.
