What do you say to police when pulled over?

Having a sense of humor and treating the officer like a human being helps a great deal in NYS.

The last time I got pulled over in my Prelude, I was at the mercy of getting a front plate ticket, an exhaust ticket, speeding ticket, and didn't have proof of insurance.

I was asked to rev my car to 3,500RPM (?) so the cop could hear it as he stood behind the car. I revved it to 2,000RPM and he came back, saying "That wasn't as loud as I was when you passed me." I replied, "Yeah, most of the bees finally got pushed out at this point, makes the can they live in quieter." He laughed and sent me on my way.

Getting stopped is a regular occurrence for me though. I always roll all my windows down, place my hands on the steering wheel where they can see them, and keep it totally honest, polite, and throw in some light humor. That gets me out of 95% but there is always some douche having a bad day or worse, a female state trooper.

I'm only 23 and I've been stopped over 100 times (I keep a record) exclusively in my slammed vehicles. Less than 10 times were for an actual moving violation and easily less than 5 times in something other than one of my e36s, q45 or hardbody. My cars tend to get a lot of attention. I've been towed, solicited bribes, had cops try to trade tickets for drug dealer names,escorted, pulled over as a joke just to screw with me, taken rides in police cruisers, pulled over because the cop wanted to ask me questions about BMWs, stopped because my car says Nissan Cima on the trunk when the registration says Infiniti Q45, boxed in by multiple cop cars, field sobriety tested, you name it but there are no laws about ride height in NY.

I've been a good boy... the car hasn't, but I have... copped a few greezies from them, that's about it...

I'd usually start by making myself look the least minority I can by using a thick aussie accent: "scarnon!, what can I do ya for cobber" "strooth I can't have been going that quick" "going to call the sheila tell her I've been pulled over" (Australian members would understand). Then they would look at me and decide this guy has had enough punishment... his ascetically challenged and sounds like he has learning difficulties...

I've only been pulled over twice (knock on wood) while being low. Both times were at night. The one cop (state trooper) really looked my car over with his flash light but never said anything. The other time I just don't think the guy was paying attention. He was too busy trying to charge me with a DWI. So I did a field sobriety test and passed with flying colors. He told me to get back in my car and have a nice night. I was shitting myself.

You say there is no law, yet my previous E46 failed the MOT on 'wheels in contact with bodywork'. I raised it up for that too!

I usually just claim on the way home/to a show. Local police though are pretty cool. I was pulled for running a red light (it was amber), and they didn't care about no tax disc, number plate on front, height, camber, stretch, poke. Simply said sort it for the MOT..!

I just blame it on the fat asses in the back seat and swear I only use the flame throwers on private property. Only reasons I ever get stopped. I couldn't speed if I tried haha

I haven't done/tried this but I have a feeling it could turn out to be quite interesting.

So self explanatory when the officer comes to your window after being pulled over have this playing so he/she can hear it... and watch their reaction. You can have it loud but I don't think that will go over well.
