yo, why would there be static in an overhead speaker system only when i plug in an aux input? regular paging is clear, its quiet all other times, but as soon as i plug in a 3.5mm aux cord, i get static on all the overhead speakers

Have you tried cleaning that jack and plug? Also, try durning down the bass and treble settings. it might be too much with a 3.5mm input.

jack and plug are brand new, plus i tried different cables.

looks like the amp prefers mono input and also needs to be unbalanced, whatever that means
