I'm not antisocial, just admittedly a bit shy. I really do enjoy solo jobs more if the work is interesting.

What kinda programming?

I do programming for phone lines in like 6 different switches. It's pretty fun.

Each switch I work in is very different. Different commands, etc.

Its not really that hard.
Its a lot like cars actually, I know quite a few people who write code and are into cars.
If you can figure out how the systems in your car work easily than you can write code.

its all about building individual components and then making sure they work together properly and efficiently. Kind of like what you said, different switches that work together with different commands.
