It started pretty well actually, some positive some negative as always.

I have sections under the car that are painted but have rust bubbles and parts where rust has poked through, do I have to sand down to bare metal or can I just go over it all after a quick wire brush. ?

I used some very similar stuff (it's called chassis saver, basically rebranded POR-15) and I just kinda scuffed everything then painted it.

A year later the rust was back. I wish now I would have taken the time to do it right. I also believe there is a base coat stuff for POR that you can put on first that actually allows the POR to adhere better, but I might be mis-remembering.

Either way, I would take your time and do it right, as if it were a body panel you were going to paint.

scrape off all the rust flakes and hit it with rust converter, than sand down to good metal and off you go
