civic is growling in 1st & 2nd gear when cold....

once warmed up, its fine. putting clutch in while rolling takes the growl away.

Synchro rings should only give you issues when shifting. Change the fluid, look for flakes.

2002, shifts great, no pop-outs, just the sound when cold

last night i dropped into a jiffy lube (cause lazy and cbf), told the techs about the noise. they pulled it in, and said my trans fluid was low (how exactly did they determine that? manual trans dont have dipsticks do they?) so he said he "topped it off" with trans fluid he had from another civic they did.

didnt charge me anything and told me to have a great day, so i take off happier than a clam. get in the car, take off, still hear the growl.. smh

when you say flakes, what would the flakes be from? shredding gears?

also, i recently changed both lower control arms, and might have pulled the driver side axle out of the diff a bit while getting the old LCA out.

it should have just popped back in, but i'm admitting i didnt look back to confirm...
